Ventilation

Ventilation and air quality is often overlooked, but is incredibly important. From getting the proper amount of combustion air into a boiler room, to providing the proper amount of air changes in a building can not only improve workplace efficiency, but also prevent dangerous situations.

In boiler rooms, if there is not enough combustion air supplied for atmospheric boilers, the room can run in a negative pressure. This can cause the boiler to spill combustion air into the room and cause a very dangerous environment. High CO2 exposure can produce a variety of health effects.

These may include headaches, dizziness, restlessness, a tingling or pins or needles feeling, difficulty breathing, sweating, tiredness, increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, coma, asphyxia, and convulsions. In the workplace fresh air is also very important. Getting proper fresh air increases work productivity and prevents staff from premature fatigue.

Exhaust fans and supply fans are a crucial part of a buildings function. HRV (heat recovery ventilation) systems are a very popular way of combining the two types of fans. HRV systems bring air into a building and exhaust air at the same time while recovering the heat of the exhausted air.

There are many types of systems in todays age that are taking efficiency into account with ventilation. Heat scavengers can preheat domestic water from exhaust air and water to water heat pumps can take energy from hot or cold air and transfer it to where it is needed.

We look forward to finding the right ventilation system for your needs.
